🌿 What Is a Newborn Home Visit?
A newborn home visit is a personalized, in-home checkup with your pediatrician in the first few days or weeks after birth. Instead of traveling to a clinic with a fragile newborn, we come to you—bringing the same clinical care, reassurance, and guidance in the comfort of your own home. Not only do we prevent your infant from being exposed to other potentially ill kids in the clinic but we also give new moms a break from having to put themselves together and be uncomfortable riding in a car. Those first few days after birth can be really rough on a mom’s body and some moms are also recovering from surgery after a C-section. We wouldn’t expect other patients having surgery to hop in a car a couple of days later, so why should we expect that of new moms?
Whether you’ve had a hospital birth, home birth, or NICU experience, a home visit ensures your baby’s care gets off to the right start!

There is no need to bundle your newborn into a car seat, navigate traffic, or sit in a waiting room. During the winter, your baby doesn’t have to go out in the cold. 🗓️ When Should You Schedule a Home Visit?
If you are planning to join Thrive Pediatrics, we request a meet and greet prior to birth so we can get to know you and your family a little bit first! It also makes sure that we can accommodate your child in the practice due to the time needed for home visits. If you have pre-enrolled, once your baby is born, all you have to do is reach out directly and we schedule your first newborn home visit within the first 3–5 days after birth. At Thrive Pediatrics, we also offer:
